Taxi driver being robbed at gunpoint by thugs who then asked to be DROPPED OFF
Alemu Abebe even THANKED the robbers for not hurting him despite them holding him at gunpoint for several minutes in his taxi in Minneapolis, US
A taxi driver was held at gunpoint for three terrifying minutes and robbed of all his belongings – before being asked to drop them off so they could make their getaway.
But despite the traumatic scenes – captured on CCTV in Minneapolis, US – the driver still THANKED the gunman for not shooting him as he fled the area.
The incident unfolded on Friday, when two hooded men got into the back of a taxi being driving by Alemu Abebe, who had been dispatched to an address.
One of the two men then suddenly brandished a handgun, before the suspects yelled: “Where the money at? I need everything!”
Terrified Alemu then replied ‘take it. take it’, before handing over his wallet, phone, tablet, keys and even a ring he wears on his wedding finger.
Bizarrely, the men can then be seen in the footage asking Alemu to drop them off somewhere, saying: “You are going to start the car and pull of slowly. Do not make eye contact.”
After arriving at an address, the two men get out of the car and make their getaway – with the driver being heard thanking them for sparing his life.
Footage from the robbery is now being shared online to warn other drivers in the area, but whether or not the men are caught, Alemu says he will not forget their faces.
He also told Fox 9 : “I’m ok (now). It’s a character of the job, you have to expect it.”
